Anne Lister Poetry Workshops In Conjunction With Shibden Hall
Calling all Anne Lister and Gentleman Jack fans!
I’m thrilled to be working alongside Shibden Hall once more, facilitating a series of Anne Lister poetry workshops.
I’ve been completely fascinated with Anne Lister since 2013, and I know I’m not alone. If you’ve loved and been charmed by Anne for years, or have just discovered her and desperate to know more, then this is the poetry course for you.
We will look at all things Anne Lister as well as her lovers, and use extracts from Anne’s diaries to stimulate writing.
Ideas will include looking at what is a poem? What makes an effective and exciting image? How do we know when a poem is finished? Fun writing exercises, guided writing and exploring a variety of poetic techniques will support, develop, and really drive your writing forward.
These engaging and exciting workshops are all about celebrating you, your writing, and Anne Lister. Come along and join in!
The poetry workshops will be held at Bankfield Museum, Halifax and Link Gallery Halifax.
